To find out under which username your Asp.Net web application is currently running
you can add the following to your .aspx page (doesn’t need recompiling etc)

<%= System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name %>

This will tell you e.g. “Network Service” is the user that is trying to access the file/folder.

Just make sure to allow that user sufficient access permissions.
